LOCAL AND GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS, AND TECHNICAL PRODUCTIVITY AND INNOVATIONRSS

In keeping with the general guidelines of the journal, articles in this area will cover theory, applications, and case studies. The objective will be to keep the readers up to date on new theoretical developments as well as the evolving situation in the world, with a special focus on Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.

Articles in the theory section will include theoretical frameworks to help frame analysis and discussion of the competitiveness and innovation issues with a focus on Latin America. This would include new advances on the theory of competitiveness at the national, state, cluster or firm level.   Examples are theoretical constructs of new trade theory and competitiveness such a Porters diamond and new variants, theories of competitiveness of sectors or clusters, and determinants of firm competitiveness at the micro level; and those of national innovation systems, generic innovations, disruptive innovations, and firm innovation strategy. 

The applications articles will include both methodologies that help to benchmark the competitiveness as well at the innovativeness of countries, regions, clusters or firms.  This can include the updates on global ranking works such as those done by the World Economic Forum or IMD, as well as more sector specific analysis such as those done by consulting firms and national competitiveness councils.  The case studies will include those at the country, sector, cluster and firm level.
